Working From Home On A Snowy Day...

Just like a snow day back when we were kids! Only everyday! We are getting hammered by a snow storm here in the midwest, and I am very thankful that I work from home full time now.

I remember back in the day when I had to drudge myself into the office regardless of the weather. Those who dared not show or "called in" to say they were going to work from home were mocked and called wimps.

Those who endured the 3 hour commute to work made sure everyone knew about it by sending a company-wide email letting everyone know they made it in okay and would be working late that day... (Nice brown nosing!)

Ahh... now I sit and sip my hot tea watching the snow fall and reading the traffic reports... just so I know the best roads to take if I need to head out to the store for a break! ;-)

Snow days are fun, of course we don't see much of them in the South. When it does snow, everything is shut down because we don't have snow removal equipment and people aren't used to driving in the snow.

Man, I wish WE'D get some snow days down here! I swear the earth is going to warm to the point where Maryland becomes like Georgia! We haven't had ANY significant snowfall yet here!
I live in a little valley in my town and if the roads were icy I wouldn't be able to drive up the hills. I could stay home and sip hot cocoa all day and play in my sketchbook and watch TV and play video games and maybe even get some house work done.... *sigh*
I PROMISE you all:
One day I will walk around on a weekday in the middle of the day, and smile to myself, because I will no longer be a part of that hectic grind. I'll have my art, my paychecks, and my own time to do things in my own way, and ends will still meet.
