I work at a callsite. A few months ago the national office decided to get a new program to make our jobs more efficient. Our local office was allowed to participate in the development of this program. Management handpicked their friends and yes women/men to work on the project allowing them to be off the phones.
The program was finalized, so our quality staff and their minions attended our group meetings and warned us that we had to use this new program because it was the greatest program ever. Half the meeting was an explanation and half was self congratulation. Pardon me while I wretch. I wished I had worn my boots to the meetings.
As you can guess the end product was shoddy and only does half the job we are required to do. I blame the fact that they picked their buddies as opposed to the real workers who actually know how to do the job.
Anyhow, at our group meeting yesterday we were advised that we weren't asking necessary questions that were omitted because of their shoddy program. Now we have to ask everything in the new program and also ask missing information from the old program. Furthermore, this is our fault because we should have guessed this, even though we were told to only use the new program.
At the latest group meeting when this was discussed I hit my bs quota for the whole month. I look around the room and my fellow workers looked like they accepted that this was their fault. I brought up the fact that the QA department and management warned us to use only this new program.
My manager said we were seasoned veteran workers and we should have known to use parts of the new program. My head is still spinning.
