I work in a place where many of the workers are black or hispanic. There are 2 supervisors and a manager that treat the workers like children. One supervisor talks to the hispanics in a vulgar and racist tone. Many times he has racist remarks. Now the manager knows and also, treats the hispanics disrespectfully. We just brought it up in a contract meeting and nothing was done. This goes on alot even when we are not in contract meetings. And if the workers talk to someone about it the manager tries to catch them alone and I assume that he threatened the with there job. I do not want to interrupt contract meetings with this issue but, I may have too.

Get legal advice how to handle this.
Keep taking secret notes and proof.
Wait for the next administration.
Hopefully they will replace the present heads of certain agencies with people friendlier to your cause.

Nice to know they have empathy. I swear most managers sell their souls to the devil for a better paying position. Most capable people in my office refuse to even apply for the managers' jobs because they don't want to deal with upper management or turn into these kinds of ogres. We end up with cruel idiots as managers.

Can you contact the EEO office if the union is ineffective?

Damn - and I thought I had it bad. I am going to post some stories on Employeedirt.com just to get more exposure to these problems.
