HR people who don't listen!

Sorry if this comes across as more "immature whining," but this really makes me mad. the past few days, I have interviewed at companies where I a) researched the company and told them so, b) showed enthusiasm, and c) wasn't nervous. Thought this was progress.

So I get feedback from the employment agency:

--"You have GOT to research the companies! They're saying you didn't!" (After I spent several minutes telling them exactly what I like about the company?)

--You aren't showing excitement. (Ok, if they read it that way; but honestly if they are looking for some gregarious socialite or AMWAY-type, I can't give it to them).

--You didn't have any questions. you HAVE GOT to show interest in the company! (Yes I did--and several--and you answered them! just because you asked at the end, "So, no questions? In that case I think we'll end things").

Do they really go so far as to LIE about candidates they don't like, or perhaps these people are simply resume-fishing and not actually hiring for the position at all, so they're sitting there thinking about what to have for dinner while completely tuning the candidate out. If that's the case, I prefer they stop wasting my time and my work day.

Apparently this recruiter must have a history of not placing too many folks, because she just called as said that since I'm not getting anywhere, do I have friends or family who need work. When I said no, she begged me to ask around. Obviously her account base is getting low.

Yeah, esp. since she committed one of the "7 Deadly Recruiter Sins" (phishing for your family and friends). Makes me wonder why she can't get her own contacts and is so desperate to cold-call. Perhaps the companies see this and are scamming her too (with those "always open" job reqs).

I signed up at one temp agency for work & didn't hear from them for 2 months! I even called & asked someone to call me back. They called me after those 2 months & said, "Since you're not interested in working here, do you know anyone who would be?" The nerve!

What an idiot. I'd ask for a different recruiter at the same place.
