I was brought in as a temp worker with a company to help them with processing. The job was only 25 hours a week and I needed a full time job. I talked to the managment about getting hired on full time because I liked the job but the management said they wasn't hiring full time right now.
A few weeks later, I got a phone call from another Company who was interested in hiring me full time permanently. I went in for the interview, and after passing several employment tests I was offered a job. I was told about all the great benefits that the company offered. I accepted with the premise that I wouldn't get a full time offer from the temp position I was working. When I broke the news to my current company they said I was the best worker they had and offered to bring me on fulltime to keep me. I researched and talked to other people (including employment counselors) and was told it was never a good idea to accept a counter-offer once you have already accept a job. So I turned down their counter offer and started the new job.
Three weeks into the job and I am very unhappy. Its a very strict nose to the grind corporate environment (minus the salary to match the work requirements) The Management style is horrendous and the work is too complicated. Well, its not that the work is complicated but the Company software has never been updated since the company opened and nor has their way of doing things. My Supervisor is a micro manager constantly looking for things to criticize workers for even though I have not been on the job long enough to perfect my work. The first week I came home with a headache and I have not been able to get rid of that headache yet.
I would consider calling the other employer back but I am in touch with my former coworkers and was told that they have already replaced my position by hiring someone else. At this point I have already started putting out my resumes again.
Anyone else had this experience? and if so, How did you deal with it?

If your position has already been replaced at your old job, you may have to chaulk it up as just bad luck. Sometimes it is impossible to predict how things are going to work out. If you decided to stay with your old company and accept the fulltime offer, they may have not stuck to their end of the bargain after you gave up the first offer. You just never know, so don't be hard on yourself. My recommendation is to give the new job another month. Sometimes it can suck for a few weeks, but once you get to know folks, it gets better. Other times it just sucks the whole time. Hope things get better for you, but if not, you'll find something better! Good luck!
