My girlfriend is alternately puzzled and disgusted by email about better erections-and her first name is very feminine.

For a while, my wife was getting all the penis enlargement spams (she has an obviously female name), and I was getting all the breast enlargement spams (I have an obviously male name, and I do NOT want man-boobs, thank you!). But to offer a potential solution to those problems, I use SpamBayes at work (http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/), and once the filter is properly trained (by you telling the filter what is and is not spam) it's really quite effective. (Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with developing SpamBayes, I just think it's good.)

An announcement goes out about a promotion, new baby, impending marriageor what have you. This announcment is sent to an entire team or department, somewhere in the neigborhood of 20 people. 18 of these people click the "Reply to All" button on their e-mail, instead of channeling all their well-wishing to the subject of the e-mail. That makes at least 18 e-mail landing inadvertantly in my "In" box. UGH!

I'm not real "computer savvy" with some of the lingo, but there has got to be a word for useless, vile, flotsam and jetsam emails perpetually sent back and forth all day. Example: I get TONS of chain-letters about how the Lord loves me (and I love Him!) but if I don't forward the chain-letter I and generations of my family to come will die the death of 1,000 shards, or whatever. Also, more tons of puppy, cat, roses galore and Barbie-Doll-esque angels letting me know how much I am loved. - You know I am a woman, but I don't get it why we females are particularly susceptible to this cloying junk. Also, the same gals that send me this mail are sending me disgusting (female chauvenism???) male cheesecake poses of "young hunks" and puerile bathroom type "jokes". - What is going on? Is EVERYONE a vulgarian these days? - After years of all this feminist pulaver about "womin" being the superior and gentle sex, I am bummed out and much, much prefer dealing with men in the workplace. But, I do digress....Do others of you get bombarded with this stuff?
