Volkswagon to charge $2 for using Customer Reps... 06/23/2007 by ITRocks
|
I had an interview with Volkswagon Credit for a sofware development position. There where three interviewers, 2 PMs and the Director, so I was a bit more up tight than usual. Not more that a few minutes into the interview, one of the Project Managers said that they are gearing up to install a new system that would make it possible to charge a customer $2 dollars if they used their customer service reps... not good enough to entertain your 1-year-old 05/31/2007 by claudiakishi

Wasn't having luck with many summer job offers as a college student, since even those are "competitive" today. So I answered a want ad for a lady who was looking for a babysitter/entertainer (basically a nanny) for her 1-year-old for 3 weeks while she and the hubby did some all-day program (I forget what).
Despite this being their first child, somehow they were already living in the richest neighborhood in town... FULL STORY»

|
Was interviewed twice with JP Morgan Chase Bank (In Houston) for a Collectors position by Four Women ( 2 black, 1 hispanic & a masculine looking white female) Even though I had the best credentials & references, I was turned down both times!! Several other individuals who I know were hired & only interviewed with Two Women & they were a little younger & were black!!! I am saying that JP Morgan Bank is using "Age Discrimination" & are "Racist" against older White Males & Females!!! Thanks Lyndon Johnson!!!

Job Search Agencies to avoid - HiProfile LLC 05/07/2007 by Academy Marine
|
Last July 2006 I decided to be proactive and begin searching for a job before my company was sold. Knowing how busy I was I decided to hire a marketing agency to find the right position. After reviewing the options I ended up being sold on the services of HiProfile (hiprofilellc.com, hpfjobs.com). They talked up a great story. I paid a 4 figure retainer and felt I was taking the right steps to be prepared for when I needed to make the move... FULL STORY»

wage based on experience 03/10/2007 by rtfm
|
The job ad stated 'salary negotiable'. I knew the rule was to start high, then come down if need be. At the interview, I had not given my last wage yet when I asked for 25% more per hour. I explained no one in my area had received raises the last 4 years before several of us were laid off, due to slow business. If we had, my last salary would have been re: 25% higher... FULL STORY»

Terrible Interviewers 02/17/2007 by Magicwriter
|
Sometimes you just have to wonder why the interviewers have jobs and I do not. I have been out of work for more than six months, and I have been on many interviews. Most are very professional, and if I don't get the job it's usually because I'm underqualified or overqualified or the position is cancelled. But sometimes, there is just no explanation at all... Perhaps the most nauseating interview...EVER 02/05/2007 by Janaynay

After about 2 years at my company, I was pondering a career change. I got through a couple of interviews with a nonprofit I was very interested in working for. They seemed very interested in me as well.
For my final interview, I was to speak with 3 would-be coworkers. I met them in the conference room and the interview itself went well enough. No nerves whatsoever... FULL STORY»

Just when you thought it was safe to have an interview.... 02/02/2007 by HaveADamnNiceDay

Why is it whenever I go into an interview, someone thinks that would be a good time to call my cell phone??? Of course I leave it on silent, but today I was at a recruiter's office taking a test, and there's this buzzing coming from my purse on the desk I'm sitting at. I don't like to turn it off, because then I forget to turn it back on..... It never fails, though! I was at an interview two days ago and the SAME THING HAPPENED! Who was it? Another recruiter... What's Going On Here 12/18/2006 by blola

I seem to have the most bizarre interviews. This morning as I approached the receiptionist, her smile almost blinded me and as she jumped up and down, she complimented me at least 25 times. I felt as though I had won the lottery. When she announced that I had arrived, it was with such uncontrolled enthusiasm that all I could do was chuckle. Then a man I had met briefly in the past gave me a tremendous hug and kiss on the cheek = wow! Could this have been because my hair was blown wildly by the wind or had these people started to hit the egg nog a bit early... FULL STORY»

Going from 7 job offers to being unemployed right before Thanksgiving. 11/24/2006 by ...
|
I was fed up with my present employer and decided to search the job market for other alternatives. I took my vacation time (3 days off Thurs, Friday and Monday of the week before last) and started my search. I was surprised how much positive response I have been getting and how much more money I am worth and can be making. Well, by Friday I had 5 job offers that were much better than my present job... The job ad stated 'salary negotiable'. I knew the rule was to start high, then come down if need be. At the interview, I had not given my last wage yet when I asked for 25% more per hour. I explained no one in my area had received raises the last 4 years before several of us were laid off, due to slow business. If we had, my last salary would have been re: 25% higher. As I said this, I noticed the interviewer became irritated. Was this a tactical error? Also, it's possible my demand was over their unstated limit. On the application, I entered the salary range desired as 19 to 25% more than read full story »
