Exit Interview

Ok, so 2 weeks ago I was "terminated" for 2 seperate deposit batches not making it to the bank. Well at first I was thrilled. I was finally free from the clutches of my evil boss, so I was like whatever and left. She had made every day a living hell for me, always putting her projects on me, lying to clients, taking 4 hour lunches, destroying my work or losing reports constantly. Then I was like wait a minute this is crap since I am not the person responsible for taking the deposits to the bank. My evil excuse of a boss told me that there we 2 seperate ones, one from February and one from March. I told her "well thats a little confusing since you handle the money" she basically blew off my comment. Then I found another job and went to start and they rescinded the job offer because of this incident and was told my previous job had terminated me for "job performance" which they found out from the payroll company so they didn't want me either! Job performance my A**, I was just told I was doing great last week! Grrrr.... (different companies, same industry, but they use the same payroll company). So I called my pervious bosses manager and asked for an exit interview, she was very nice and listened to my side, but didn't really care. So how can I be terminated for something I don't have anything to do with?????? WTF? Then my bosses manager told me to look at this as a learning experience. Yes I learned that my boss hired her friend for my replacement I learned that you are liars! So the way I figure it I got fired so her friend could work there.

You are EXACTLY right. I found out through the grapevine that MY "bimbo manager" was trying to terminate me, because she had a friend waiting in the wings. Fortunately, I had enough contacts on the staff to give me a heads up. After I tried to report the problem, and realized that the administration did not care (and was actively aiding and abetting her), I made it very clear that I was recording everything that happened between me and her (thanks god for MP3 players). She has been as sweet as pie for several weeks now. It is too funny to watch her scan my desk for the recorder before she opens her stupid mouth. I just have to make sure I always have fresh batteries.

Time to call the hour and labor commission and perhaps even a lawyer. Nobody has the right to fire you for duties not under your control.

Another update- I have just been informed that I was awarded unemployment! I'm sure it just burns their butts to have to pay it out! I must admit it gives me satisfaction :)

Good for you-is the new job working out? Please check my new posting(Bimbo Manager Update!), I think I will be in your position pretty soon. It is absolutely scary and disgusting how these companies plot and plan.

I am so sorry. O.k. you have been heard, errr seen. You are so upset you posted twice. Now calm down, this matter requires some brainstorming from the entire jobschmob community. Your old company or payroll may have committed an illegal act.

Contact your county's labor board. Ask for an appointment if necessary and explain what happened and bring any documentation you might have kept, ot at least write down to the best of your memory, dates, times, people and conversations relevant to your termination and job performance. Present this to the person you meet with at the labor board. If they decide the employer is at fault for the reason or way the termination was handled, and they can prove you are being "blackballed" they will take action against the company. In CA, it usually means stiff fines for the employer. One person I knew a long time ago actually sued for her job back and won. Good Luck.

According to the Fair Credit Act of 1984 I think, the sharing of information beyond your length of employment, job title and rate of pay is illegal. Even though I don't totally agree with this law, because it lets bad employees move from job to job, it is the law. So, if anyone shared your performance, sick time..etc..they broke the law. But Good Luck proving it...
