Try this... replace the dry-erase board markers with permanent ones. Someone will eventually space out and grab the marker and start writing.
I did this in my last company right before I quit. Hilarious! I was able to view the completed task before my last day. It was awesome...

I did this... hilarious because the jerk boss who picked up the marker actually wrote "IT Crap" and circled it in a diagram of business processess. Haahahahahahah
