We have a new guy at the office who recently took a week vacation. While he was out, we had a big production problem meeting regarding an issue that has been bogging our systems for 5 years. The vendor of the software we use has even given up on the problem since it was deemed too complicated and unworkable. As a joke we decided to email the new guy an overview of the issue. We told him it was high priority and he needed to get it solved ASAP. Coincidentally the day he returned from vacation most of us were out of the office. Apparently he sweated the day out pretty good before someone clued him in that he really didn't need to fix the problem. =)

I didn't think that was very nice. Isn't the job itself at any place difficult enough without co-workers placing more pressure on people. It's difficult enough wanting to fit in starting a new job, but to have people already jerking your chain, really poor behavior.
