Liar Liar Pants On Fire

We had a pretty heavy-duty project going on at work and were running a tad behind schedule. I had been working about 9-10 hours each day, including most weekends, for about 6 weeks. The exception to my work schedule was on Saturdays, when I had class. (trying to finish my degree at a weekend college program) I had been taking these classes on the weekend for the last two years, and had thought I had made that clear. Apparantly not.
So, the big boss decided to call a mandantory working weekend. (Not that HE would actually be working, mind you.) I told him I had school. He called me into his office, informed me that I didn't have school that weekend and then spent 5 minutes YELLING at me, acusing me of being a liar. Despite the fact that I could prove I was actually taking a class (Business Law, incidentally - we LOVED this one when I shared it in class!). OVER a month later my supervisor called me into his office. I was officially being written up for insubordination, for lying to a manager. I told him I could prove I wasn't lying. He knew I had been taking weekend classes for the last 2 years. Did he want my registration papers? My professor to call him? At least he had the grace to look a tad embarrassed. I was told if I wanted to dispute it I would have to file a report with human resources. But it would still be on my file. The next day, I put in my notice of resignation and was asked to leave that day. Good to know that all the hours I put in, and all the time I took away from my studies meant so much to the company. On a happier note, three weeks later I got the best job I've ever had. It pays a little less, but I have a cool boss, no overtime and oh yeah! I'm HAPPY! =)
