The Outer Limits

I worked for a woman once who was not very pleasant. She used to tell these great stories about my precessors. The three previous employees in my position were much better than I was. Ok - that is not a big deal.

What was a big deal was when the CEO came to me and gave me a longevity award. I had worked at the company for 1.5 years at the time. He said that I had worked for my boss longer than anyone else. I asked about my 3 predessors. He explained:

(1) A woman had lasted until lunchtime and never came back.
(2) A man had lasted a whole day and never came back.
(3) Another man had made it a week - then quit to join the marines.

So true. These people thrive because others let them (out of fear?) Take the CEO for example...he knew nobody lasted long under your boss yet he did nothing to get rid of her and just awarded the people who stayed. That's backwards.

I'll say this only once: 1) One in thirty people you meet will be like this. 2) Most employees (and even managers!) are afraid of them. 3) They are to removed at all costs before they destroy you/your company!
