My boss is insane. She is a storm cloud daily and when she enters a room her negativity and moodiness just oozes with ugliness.
I have tried to kill her with kindness. When that did not work I tried to be as ugly back to her as she was to me - yeah that did not work cause I am not that kind of person.
She has lied about things that did not happen and tries to steal my thunder.
I manage a team of employees and she manages me. She has recently taken to trying to put my team against me in an effort to smear me.
Well it's worked because after a year and a half of her abuse I will finally be quitting; however, I know that I can move on and succeed elsewhere and unfortunately for her she will always be truly an ugly person and for that I am sad for her.

What amazes me is how these folks get to be managers in the first place. It is almost like genetic blending. You get a few bad ones up top. They breed and in come a few more, with new bad qualities. More inter-breeding, more bad bosses. It becomes impossible to cure. The good ones, the employees that have the potential to change the workplace for the better, usually end up leaving because they'd rather work for themselves than deal with a nest of squabbling management.
