i hate my job. i dont get paid enough to sit at work and be bored off my ass! i know it sounds nice to get paid to sit and look at my myspace page...but seriously, id rather not get paid and get to sit in comfortable clothes and be able to do what i want. i am here for 9 hours today because the girl that works at night isnt coming in. and my boss is on her 50th vacation this year. and my other supervisor came in about 9:30 this morning, just got back at 1 pm and told me that he needed me to stay until 4 because he wanted to leave early! and to top it off...get this, i cant get more than 8 hrs in a day or else its overtime, so i have to write the extra hour in tomorrow! i only have 3 weeks if i can make it. i honestly dont think i can. help me!!!!!!!

Ugh...I had a temp job like that once. Too cheap to pay 1 hour of overtime on my $11.50/hr salary, they told me that if i stayed late (no matter how late) one day, I'd have to take off that many hours the next day. So I could work my ass off, but only if I leave early the next day--no extra pay for working late.

to the person who asked if i could find stuff to do...sure i could but the only "responsibilities" that my boss gives me are to cut out paper stars. honestly, why would i want to help? and i never get a lunch break because they always leave just before lunch. and then they stop in at 1 when i get off at 2 and say they need to run a few more errands and ask if i can stay longer. i only get paid $7.50 and until summer hits, i only work about 4 hours a day. so i think that during summer and im working 7 hours...an hour of overtime shouldnt be a big deal!

Why not take the initiative and do something so you won't be bored? Can you straighten up the files, find a problem to solve, make something better?

first off, asking you to record time on a different day is illegal. record your time as you would if he had not said that. When they take issue with it, take it to the labor board. Secondly, don't EVER work at a job you hate. There are other jobs out there and it's not worth risking your mental well-being
