Demeaning Boss

My boss is very demeaning when she talks to most of her employees. She makes them feel like they are the stupidest person in the world and that she is the only one who knows what to do. I went to HR one day and told them how she is treating not only myself, but other employees. I told HR that she will run off this Senior Acct Mgr that I work with, but I don't think they believed me. Well, guess what, that employee gave her notice and today is her last day. The morale is at the lowest I have seen. Why won't the higher ups listen and realize that she is running off the employees.

Is this person good at their work? I find companies are willing to put up with an obnoxious employee if they're getting something they want out of them. We have a Super that's like that, and we've lost three employees so far because he makes them feel so stupid, and he is a know-it-all. BUT, he's an excellent salesman, so they put up with it. Today is the last day for #3 to quit...it's a shame

Just right now he told my dept. lead that his 9 yr. old knows more about electronics that he does. Ouch

I hear you. Have one of those know-it-all (they think) bosses myself. What an idiot. If all is well, she has to be annoying and find something wrong, and then tell us how SHE the "expert" would handle things. All with a smile on her face. We are the highest ranked sales force for our company so she'll be there forever. I just work and do my best to ignore her, but we do get in a fight now in then. Being one of the top salespeople myself, I keep my job because the higher ups respect me. She will learn to eventually, I just put resistance up to all her crap, and eventually she'll wear down. She won't push me around. As long as I perform (and I do, constistently), she can't do anything. There is a special place in hell for bosses like that. They need to support, not aggravate, their workers!

My old boss went to your company? So that's where she wound up!

Guess what? She in NO WAY like that with the higher ups! She is the most obnoxious, brown noser that you would ever want to meet. When they hear about how she treats people when she think no one is watching, they just cannot believe it...after all, she is so SWEET when she is with THEM! Solution? Tape her! It is legal, as long as you are one of the parties involved. Get a voice activated digital recorder, and when she comes to your desk and makes a snotty demeaining comment, smile sweetly, and say, "I'm sorry? Could you repeat that?" just so they will clearly be able to hear it when you play it back for them. Be sure to apologize profusely for being forced into such an uncomfortable situation, and remind them that they are the ones who pushed you to it, as they would not believe you in the first place.
