As many companies have already done, credit card companies are increasingly sending their telecommuting jobs to India. My boyfriend has an Aspire Visa, which is well below the limit, and paid on time. He has now for over a year, been pestered by them, up to 5 times a week, from India, trying to sell him on their credit protection plan. First he yelled at them to stop calling, then, in exasperation, said fine, mail him the information to read. They STILL call him, and have NOT mailed anything. Are they not understanding English?!?! WTF? He's even threatened to close the account. I'm going to write a written complaint to the American customer service department telling them how frustrating it is to deal with ppl who don't understand what you're saying, and that we don't want to do business with a company that has sent jobs out of the US! It may be cheaper to have employees over there, but at the expense of losing American customers? I'll never get that card.

A good place to start is www.my3cents.com. They're a consumer advocacy site that I found from a link on the home page here. (I think they paid for advertising or something) But they seem to really care about the consumer and people post complaints on the site to warn other people about the bad companies. I had a probem with a car rental company and I put it on there and lots of people commented saying thank you they won't use that company any more. I think we have to stick together.
