Ok so the new job is going good except one little thing. The owner is very set in his ways and very stubborn. He actually yelled, yes yelled at another employee for calling him to order parts and ask a question on how he wants something done. The jerk went off about how we should not make any calls even work related (like ordering parts or finding out how to do something) except when we are on lunch or break! ooook then. That makes perfect sense since we need those things to work and all. And sure no problem let me WORK ON MY BREAK!!! What a moron. Does he actually see how stupid this is? Where is common sense in the world it seems everybody is getting more and more stupid!

So in other words, you can't do your work on work time? Ermm.....he sounds like an idiot.

...agreed, give him what he wants and don't use your breaks for anything but breaks. Having to use the bathroom would be a good excuse to start with.

So this is a NEW job??? This idiot of a boss is already out to break your spirit. NO, do not work on your break or lunch, he is trying to take over your life! Here is my suggestion. When he asks why you don't have the necessary part, or haven't done something...tell him you are really sorry, you didn't have time to call about the work related issue on your BREAK or LUNCH, because your Mom, (or Dad, or whoever) was in the hospital or your dog is at the vet, or your child is in trouble at school, whatever. Make him feel like a JERK for wanting you to work on your break when you have family business to attend to. PLUS-it will impact his business negatively, as you were not able to use work time constructively. His choice, his words, his results. Ha! Karma in action. Good luck!

Hope you still have your resume, because you need to send it out. This is a horrible situation & a sign of things to come.

Oh my. I feel sorry for you. If this is how he acts now, I imagine you are in store for some entertainment over the next few years! Good luck.
