I have been waiting for my annual review/evalutaion for over 5 months now...After repeatedly asking each of the owners of the company for my reveiw I perpetually get the same answer which is usually 1. We don't have time, 2. Asked the other guy, 3. We're looking into it and we'll meet soon.

After the first month of this I tried creative ways to get-in and get this done...To no avail. Currently I am ahead of where I should be production wise and will exceed plan by about 30-40% this year. In addition, I have helped train new reps and field a lot of tasks that the owners do not want to deal with which in essence clears their plate.

On a business trip with one of the owners I let him know what I would like to see happen and asked where we were at with moving forward and he completely blew it all off...

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it -- I am at my wits end with this. It would be hard right now to take a step down to take a step up due to current financial constraints. Plus, I like what I do...I'm just tired of getting walked on...

I understand what your saying about teaching others but what do you do with those that dont want to learn? I know that coming from a position of power such as being able to put in 2 weeks notice as a lever to move them would work but it would be dicey financially for me to do so...another employee and I discussed a similar situation he went through over lunch and he stated that he just gambled with turning in notice and it worked for him. The difference is that he doesn't care if he has a job or not, he is in a position that he could make the same money anywhere and he is married to a woman that makes good money.

I don't like to quote Dr. Phil, but in this case I think it fits the bill: "You teach people how to treat you". You've somehow taught them that you will deliver as promised or even above and beyond and that you will accept their terms of payment and let them walk on you. You have to put your foot down and let them know the consequences of their actions or stop doing above and beyond and only do what they're paying you for.
