I think I have shared with you guys how my "Bimbo Manager" (hereafter known as the B.M.) has a mission to eliminate current employees in our department in an attempt to bring in her friends from a previous incarnation. Today, she set up and back-stabbed another of my co-workers. She told him to come in with jeans today, in order to move boxes and do other physical labor. He showed up WEARING jeans, not WITH jeans, as she had said. She acted surprised that he showed up without a change of clothes, but then proceeded to make him work all morning anyway. When he got a break at lunchtime, I spoke with him briefly-just sharing about some classes we are taking, etc. I was very impressed with some things he said, in regard to forgiving enemies, and channeling pain and anger into positive energy for change. He sat down at his desk to rest for a moment, after all the work he had done in the morning, and the B.M. swept through the office, and dropped an envelope in his lap. "Here's a present for you", she sneered, and stalked away. When he opened it, he saw that it contained a written warning about his violation of the "dress code". Plus, she had COPIED it to the new administrator. He sat there gasping for a few moments, and then went to the restroom and threw up. I just cried. I do not know what to do at this point. And guess what. This firm just got publicly honored by the ACLU, and the home office sent an email to all of us gloating about it. My co-worker happens to be a black man, who the B.M. referred to at one time (privately, to me) by using the "N" word. Wonder what the ACLU would think of that? I tried to tell the management, but they shot me down and warned me to be silent. I was told that anything I say does not matter, I am only STAFF. And so, the story continues.

Oh, I forgot this part...to add insult to injury, SHE was sashaying around the office last Friday wearing...you guessed it...tight blue jeans, in fron of visitors - because she was leaving "early" for the weekend. Beieve me, it was not a pretty sight, and very unprofessional, as she was asked to escort some law students around and show them the office. Then she acted pissed because they were deferring to ME ( a lowly clerk) and asking me questions, as they apparently thought I was in charge of the department. At least I looked like I was working in an office.

Very stupid move on her part. Your co-worker could get the NAACP involved and make things really nasty. Too bad you didn't have a camera phone to discreetly take pictures of her in her jeans...

I would be thinking about going postal. I find people with professional degrees such as a PhD or a JD feel they are better than other people. So much for higher education making people more tolerant. Your BM manager needs to have an attitude ajustment. I would tell someone what she said, there is no room for that behaviour in any place of business or the home. Hate breeds hate. The coworker who received a demerrit for wearing jeans should remind the BM that at home he can dress himself any way he wants to. It is obviously about control for the BM. I am sure that her previous coworkers are happy she is gone. They would not want to work with her because she is a sociopath. Trust me she is having too much fun torturing you. The more she knows it bothers you, she will become more aggressive; I would not count out physical violence on her part. She needs to be committed to home for the mentally insane and given shots of thorazine to keep her from hurting herself or others. It is time to start wearing a voice activated recorder. Document everything.

This is just terrible! Her behavior, the whole place is just unbelievable. Are you looking for a new job yet? This place is rotting from the inside out.

Dharmadee, wow I'm sorry that things have gotten even worse for you. Keep Documenting everything.

Believe me, I AM looking for another job-but I was advised today by one of the secretaries to contact the EEOC and file a formal complaint. She said I probably have grounds for numerous lawsuits for harrassment, a hostile workplace environment and violations of the "whistleblower act". I am going to do it. Re. Martin Luther King said that sometimes, you just have to do the right thing, even if it is not expedient. My co-worker (one of the sweetest guys in the world) was called in to the new administrators office, and told that if he did anything else "wrong", he would be fired. He does NOT deserve this. I am so disgusted by this place. And they DO draft employment law - for the whole nation. Who do they think that these laws are for-some other company? I have a feeling that they think they are untouchable. This is just scary. I don't know how I am going to do it exactly, but God willing, I am going to take them down a peg.

JUST DO IT!!!! I am wishing you all the luck and strength that you will need to do this. I will be thinking of you and hope that this law firm is brought to their knees.

DHARMADEE- Give us an update and let us know how things are going.

Yes, let us know since surly B M was well rested and waited with baited breath.
BoneyardDiva(05/31/2006)
OMG, what a b*tch! Sounds like she needs to be taken down a FEW pegs.

Hi guys. Well, I did call the EEOC, and found out that I could have a lawsuit, based on "retaliation", and they are beginning an investigation. Meanwhile, my co-worker decided to write his own letter to management, threatening legal action. Several staff members have decided to file complaints due to their observations, while some of them have written letters of commendation on my behalf and sent them to the administration. Meanwhile, the B.M. is stepping up her efforts, and tracking me like a hound dog. I have to email her two or three times a day, explaining everything I am doing, everything that is on my desk, giving her an "estimate" of how long a task will take, etc. Unbelievable.
