Lead by example part 3.

At another Supervisors' Meeting, one of the boss' topics was driving the patrol vehicle. The month before the meeting, a one month new patrol vehicle had met a light pole. We were to instruct the officers on the rules of driving on the complex. This included driving in the aisles and not driving through the parking spaces especially if that meant driving between parked cars!!!! We were not to park along the curb; unless we were to be inside the building less than 5 minutes, for an emergency, or after hours!!!!!

Well, the next week, I was the passenger in a patrol vehicle driven by the boss during business hours. He parked along the curb and we were to be in the building for a non-emergency thing for over 15 minutes. We left the building. The boss proceeded to drive through the parking spaces between parked cars as an employee watched from their car.

I again knew better than to point out his errors. I also wondered what he would have done to an officer who had just done those rule infractions.
