ONE DAY YOU CALL OUT AND THERE IS NO ONE TO REPLACE YOU. YOUR BOSS HAS TO STAY AND WORK FOR YOU. THE NEXT DAY, YOU COME TO WORK AND EVERYTHING IS SCREWED UP. EVERYTHING IS OUT OF ORDER AND OUT OF CONTEXT. THE ONLY THING YOUR BOSS TELLS YOU IS, " YOU NEED TO STOP CALLING OUT, CAUSE WHETHER YOU KNOW IT OR NOT, YOU HAD US ALL IN A BIND."

We have plenty of those where I work. My child had Strep throat (physician verified) and I had to stay with her to give medication (soup, jello, get her favorite dvd's, etc..), so I let my boss know the day before. His words, verbatim, "Can't you call a sitter or have a family member watch her?" Stunned (or pissed off beyond belief) I walked away, told the V.P. that I was going home to take care of my sick daughter for a day or two. She said, "Go ahead and take a couple of sick days so you can make sure she's better and call me if you need more." I actually found a executroid that has a heart. It's a miracle.
