My first job out of College was at the May's Family Center in Merrillville Indiana in 1972. There was no blogging in those days so I am taking advantage of this toi vent on one of the slimiest scam artists around. was the owner of this glorified flea market masquerading as a discount store. His scam was to hire department managers and store managers for short periods of time work them around the clock without overtime then fire them. He had a scam going with of Fadell Personnel to hire people, applicant fee paid and then get rid of them as soon as 90 days were over. At that point no amount of the first years salary percentage was recoverable. I am sure was getting a kickback from . He of course could not get away with this with his unionized employees. also had a younger brother , who was the family Fredo, he never did anything other than hit on the teenage stockgirls. Neither ever talked to any employees personally, they used their management for that, perhaps deep down they knew they could never look anyone in the face. Anyway I moved on from there, am now a self-made millionaire and have done it without treating anyone dishonestly. The May's Family Centers, not to be confused with the May Company or May Department Stores went out of business in the early 1980's one step ahead of the creditors. and his idiot brother managed to destroy a business they inherited in about 10 years. I am sure they both moved on to other scams. It just feels good to put it out there even at this late date.

My husband worked for a company briefly who hired him as a manager. Turns out, they did this constantly, to let the "real" manager have 3 months summer vacation. Then, after 90 days, the NEW manager "doesn't work out". I am sure they think they are being so smart, using the system, so they are not required to pay any unemployment, or insurance premiums. They just get temporary labor out of experienced people who deserve better. They are scum.

I was mailed a copy of your Bosses from Hell by Department manager,Posted on 03/13/2006. The author has my my admiration for venting his complaint about the May Family Center and the Fadell Personnel, but I am in no way related to the Fadell Personnel or the May Company.

And to think this probably happens often...and we just don't know it (or maybe just don't want to know)

WE, my family and friends want to know. How about a list of unethical greedy sneaks who destroy honest workers' lives?
