Well, my manager was hired because she was friendls with VP, and our director was told to hire her. She based all ehr decision on what was good for her not what was proper or according to the guidelines. Working in a big catholic hospital I felt protected with guidelines and core values in place, just to find out that the rules change when it came to my manager. When I was out sick she wen through my desk and then claimed that my work was incomplete. She replaced me before I was even interviewed and disciplined, She had my coworker go through my desk. Subsequently things were missing such as lipsticks, my evaluations and other personal item, which she claimed no knowledge of. I was subsequenlt fired and never given back my things. My manager changed documentation for the disciplinary action when it came to the court hearing for unemployment enefits. Imagine if you can that you have the original paperwork, and the paperwork that gets submitted for the hearing had changed made- which accoring to the hospital policy is considered fasifying documentation. Yet, the management ignores . She changes her story everytime. Can you imagine being fired for dicsussubg a case with your supervising physician and be told that you violalated privacy act. They obviously did not understand that such discussion is considered privilage information. My manager does not have any rules, she relies on the VP to protect her as stories change she is propected. How can you fight against that much politics and incompetence. They replaced me with three people, now it takes three to do what one did. I won the unemployment hearings, even though she testified against me. The jugde could not believe that someone with excellent recornd and exacllent evaluation in May would then be disciplined after 10 years of employment within month of new manager. Never having any type of discipilinary actions prior to this and multiple managers. Even when I pointed out all the facts and inconsistacies as well as falsification of documents to CEO of the Hospital, she at first agreed but then changed her story. I am sure she talked to my wonderful, unqualified manager. Just to show you that you don't need job skills or experience or great work ethic, just connections. If you are connected you can change documentation, you can alter story of what happeded and you are protected, bu I am out of job.
She was even smiling when I was given my pink slip, is it something. Yet she had a nerve to call my house to give her explaination of why I was not paid out all the hours. She surrounds herself with her friends who she can control, but the people that actually do the work are left out.
Humiliation is what I suffered and now I am faced with the prosepct of having to find a new job.
Where is the justice? Who is looking out for the little people in the work space?
Certainly not the management of any big corp.
I started working for a small hospital that expended, in the expension they lost the sight of the worker and now it is all about the might dollar. If you are connected you can do no wrong.

I can tell that you are so upset, that is why you did not proofread. Please believe me, I feel your pain. Read "My Bimbo Manager" and you will see what I am going through. I did learn something from my therapist, and it is this -"This is NOT your fault." You are right, in the corporate world, it is not about what you know, but WHO you know. If someone is willing to lie, steal and otherwise break the law, a normal law-abiding person has NO defense against them. If they are being covered for, by people with a lot of influence, there is practically no way to win. If you can sue, sue. But since most of your documentation was stolen, you probably can't prove your case. One thing I learned, from working for lawyers, is this. It is NOT about what is right, it is about what you can PROVE in a Court of Law. In your case, maybe it would be best to shake the dust from your feet, they were not worthy of you. Which DOES appear in their Catholic Bible, (Matthew 10:14). They should be ashamed of themselves.

you need a good attorney-, i hope you can get to a better place than that hell hole- at some point the VP and his pal will get caught- they broke the law. they are probably abusing other employees, it is usually a pattern of behavior. you are better off without those people. if possible, get good letters from people you CAN trust and find a better place. have also worked in a large catholic hospital which states their values, etc. - the administrators are incompetent, dishonest and the antithesis of what one would want in healthcare, the atmosphere of loathing and distrust by the staff is tangible- go figure!

As far as "grammar and punctuation" goes (dangling participle), jobschmob is for voicing your opinion (no punctuation) not slamming everione (misspelled) for writing style. Lighten up goob.
