I have many horror stories about my x-boss. This is about his "LEAD BY EXAMPLE"-punctuality. I was scheduled to be in one meeting and two training classes with him. He was late to all three and all he said when he entered was "I'm sorry I'm late.". When you're late for his meetings, he says to you in front of everyone, "You're disrespecting me.". He constantly complains about others being late for work. When he's late, no one says anything about it because his superior would not do anything about it. His work day used to be 7am to 4pm with an hour lunch. One day, he arrived at work at 11am, left at 12pm, returned at 2pm, and left at 3pm. No one in the office really cared as it was a relaxed stressless day without him. The only other times our work days go as relaxed and without his created problems are when he is not there. My hours were 4pm-12am. Twice, he was to meet with me during my shift to handle a problem employee. The first time he never showed, so I handled the problem and left him a voice-mail. The second time, he showed up one hour after we were to remove an employee from their position. It was not the first time I removed an employee from their position and it would not be the last; it just the fact that my boss isn't punctual and he demands everyone else to be punctual. He definitely does not "Lead by Example" when it comes to punctuality; or anything else for that matter, but those are stories for later.

X we miss you here at the Park. JR is still here and wishes he could do something about me. We butted heads as he is apt to say and I came out on even ground with him. It can't last forever but I hope this gives you a little peace. I had him shaking in his boots.

My boss read our group the riot act for showing up late one day. He told us that we had to be in every day by 8:30 - no excuses. The NEXT DAY he rambles in around 9:00. I was the first to see him, so I said, "Hey! Glad you could make it in today!" He gave me a confused look. My cube-mate leaned over and whispered, "I'm so glad you said that..." Me too...
