Note to all companies:
Train your management staff regulary on employee relations matters. I know some managers who have been with the same company for 25 years and have never been updated with new inovative ways to retain valuable employees. New people that come in are bullied when they try to introduce new ideas or take the intiative to learn and do more. They are usually forced out or quit before they have a nervous breakdown. The good ole boy and some old school girls will get ya if you dont respond to them in a subservient manner.
They tell ya...now don't come back ye hear.

This is my current job. Old school managers holding back any progress for the sake of protecting their own jobs. What once was very frustrating has now become comical. I am even starting to make jokes about it out loud when a situation comes up.

Sad, really...

You can't teach an old dog new tricks, more importantly you can't teach management anything different from what they want to practice. Management is what it is... their souls have been sucked dry from being in the corporate world too long.

That's how the good ol'boys operated at the airplane factory. If the boss glued feathers on a pig and called it a chicken, the whipping boys would all bob their heads in unison.
