Just open the door and see for YOURSELF!

For what seems like every other day since I started working here my boss stands in front of the supply cabinet next to my desk and asks "Do we have any...?" The end of that question runs the gammet from white-out to pencils to post-it's to rubberbands. He once stood there and asked if we had any milk left to be funny. The thing is it's NOT FUNNY. He doesn't even open the cabinet to see if there are any of whatever the heck he needs, he just stands there in front of the closed door and looks up at it like it is some sort of magic treasure chest of office supplies that will be empty if HE opens it. So he just stands there and ASKS ME....like I have some sort of x-ray vision. Yes, I am your secretary. Yes, I use office supplies. Yes, I go in the cabinet on a daily basis and have a basic understanding of what's there and what isn't. But FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, I am working! Just open the dang door and LOOK FOR YOURSELF! You are 56 years old! I just know he is the type of man who goes home and says "honey, do we have any coffee?" meaning "did YOU make any for me?" I am just so sick of being treated like I am his mommy or something. Is it SO HARD to just open the supply cabinet and LOOK? Especially since YOU ARE STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT!! If you are reading this and you see yourself...consider yourself warned that someone, somewhere thinks you're an idiot who can't do anything for himself! (or herself fro that matter!)

AMEN AND HALLELUJAH for letting me vent today! I was about to snap today and risk going off on this man! One more thing... asdhfsdjlkafklahgsoglsrehkfopdjxikdojabvxcjlkjfa hjkdhbmjkgvdhfgjksdflk!!! There. that felt better. bye.

Next time, get up and stand next to him and peer at the cabinet...WITHOUT OPENING IT...and say "I don't know", then sit down and keep working.... If he says "You didn't open the door!?" tell him... "It's not locked..."

Did you ever stop to think that your boss is telling you that he wants his secretary to know exactly what is going on with the office supplies? Seriously, maybe, he's trying to tell you something.

I think I used to work for this guy. Cheer up, they only do this to the ones they love.

Leave the supply cabinet door open. If he asks why, say, "You seemed to have trouble opening it."
