Unlike most people, I grew up without a garage. So, when I finally bought my first home I was very excited about the concept of pushing a button and having a door open for my car. Anyway, about 4 months into living in my home the electricity in the neighborhood went out. I tried to manually open my garage door, but it wouldn't budge. So...I called in a PTO day "because I couldn't get my garage door open and my car was stuck in the garage". When my husband came home that night he showed me the release latch on the chain. Who knew this existed? Obviously not me!
Anyway, I'm sure HR got a good laugh out of me that day.

Hey, you did what you thought you had to do at the time; you didn't know any better -- no harm done, I'm sure.
