My boss walks like he has slippers on. He shuffles. You can hear him coming. That's actually OK, you can get off the blogs or shopping websites faster. But it doesn't stop there. He has been here for 5 months and still hasn't bothered to use the accounting software, he's the Controller. He has a real problem with women in the workplace. I asked for time off to take my kids to the doctor. His comment? "My wife always takes care of that stuff. Why can't yours?" OK you moron. I AM THE WIFE. He treats the receptionist like she's a child. He hates it when I'm right. He doesn't know how to figure out someone's salary. He doens't know how to do a general journal entry. He doesn't know how to reconcile a bank statement. I'm not saying I'm perfect. But this guy is supposed to have a 4 year degree and extensive accounting experience. He can't explain revenue to the owner of the company! I'm leaving here just as soon as I find something better. And I'll tell you, it doesn't have to be that much better. I won't even mention the Human Resource issues. The harrassment, the groping, or the laziness. Oh...and he slurps his coffee...even when it's cold.

A classic case of someone incompetent succeeding at the expense of others. This boss is very good at the game of getting other people to do his work for him, so he doesn't have to. His incompetence is never seen by those who matter. That's how he got to where he is. He's probably good with the gift of gab, has taken credit for the work of others, and his higher-ups think highly of him, too. I wouldn't be surprised if he is a buddy of the higher-ups, golfing, dinners and country clubs, those kinds of things. This guy's the incompetent boss who has had people covering up for him all-along.

want to take a guess at who got fired yesterday? Yep, brought in and told: "Please don't sue us here is 5 weeks severance. Sign this paper saying you won't say anything." I didn't sign. I have to laugh. The owner has no idea what he's in for. Wait until the rest of the company doesn't get their payroll checks at the end of the month.
