Lacking Manners

I used to work in the Computer Services department at my company and a former co-worker and I prided ourselves on giving the best customer service possible. After working there for 7 years we got a new manager who took less than two years to destroy the good reputation our department had. My former co-worker was "down-sized" and I found another job within the company as I could no longer take the new atmosphere.

Recently, one of the new technicians came to my new departments secretary and disconnected the fax machine and walked off with it. When the secretary finally caught up with him he simply said "it's needed up front!". Later it was found out that the finance department fax was down and one was needed to answer customer questions.

The mad-as-heck secretary came over and said "You and [former co-workers name] would NEVER have done that! You would have simply explained what was happening and ASKED would it be ok to borrow the fax!"

If everyone would just try and be polite, work would be much more tolerable.
