Some years back, I worked the nightshift, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., at a Drug Emporium. The security guard there, "Jimmy," used to nod off and go to sleep at the front counter, while we were taking care of the store in the early morning hours. Occasionally, we would -- in the quiet of the early morning hours -- pick the phone up and say, "Wake up, Jimmy," on the intercom throughout the store. Then there were times when we would grab an item off of the store shelf that had one of those detector stickers on it and go running down the aisle that led out of the store and out of the front door. This, of course, would trigger the alarm, and Jimmy, the sleeping guard, would jump sky-high. It was so wrong, but it was a riot.
