My father told me a story from years ago, when he was on the police force -- Highway Patrol, actually. Him and his partner were waiting to speak to a superior, and the superior wasn't in his office.
My dad and his partner went into his office with four of those long pink erasers. Then they got an ink blotter. They inked little birds' feet, one foot on each eraser.
With the inked birds feet on the erasers, they tracked the erasers down one wall like little feet walking, across the floor, across the man's desk -- black birds' feet on the back of his paperwork -- down the desk, across the other side of the floor, and back up the side of the wall, inking and re-inking all the way.
Needless to say, the superior officer was very freaked out when he got back to his office. My dad and his partner just happened to show up and had a good laugh.
