Home > How I Quit My Job

Lottery Loser

A security guard at my downtown Chicago office came in one day and quit. But he didn't just come in and have a nice brief, calm resignation. Noooo...he made a big production of out quitting and left a few bridges smoldering on his way out. The reason he didn't need his job all of a sudden? He won the lottery! He was telling everyone and making it clear he obviously didn't need his job anymore and he was "outta here!!".

Well...guess what. Ole boy didn't win the lottery after all. Oh he thought he did alright, that's for certain. But apparently he wasn't wearing his glasses when he checked the ticket.... The next day, after he realized he wasn't gonna be on the Forbes list anytime soon, he came crawling back, apologized and asked for his job to be reinstated.

Suffice it to say his request was promptly denied. We were laughing about this one for weeks!
