Pulled one on the boss

Yesterday we got a service request from my other boss in regards to a backgound check on a new hire. Since I am now sitting in a cube all day and I was sending the request to the correct department I thought I'd have some fun with this.

I shouted over the cube wall to my super (he sits across from me) so that everyone could hear. I explained what the ticket was about. I then asked if it was an Incedent Request (something broken) or a Service Request (something not brocken).

He sounded frustrated by my asking him such a stupid question and knowing that I am very intellegent. He shouted back asking if it concerns something that is broke. I replied that I don't know if the new hire was broke becuase I don't know his financial status.

I heard the boss huff and then ask if it is something that is not working! I responded that the guy that quit is no longer working with us!

For every response he gave I would respond by twisting his words and made it sound like it wasn't.

I heard another and LOUDER frustrated huff from my super ... I then peeked over the cube wall - his face was getting red. As I peeked over I had a BIG smile plastered on my face and proclaimed that I was jerking his chain!

My super stopped in his tracks ... thought about it for a moment and stated that I had got him - got him good! He went on saying that it is hard for anyone to get one over on him but I did in a BIG way!
