Well, true believers, it appears that our story is entering it's final chapter. At least for this leg of our journey that is. Our hero was given his last day on the job notice because in all liklihood he is being sent to the "bench". Which in IT means, you don't fit anywhere and we're going to pay you to stay home. While that prospect seems appealing. It's not. It's a very uncomfortable feeling knowing you're not wanted or that you don't fit in. Although our hero is grateful to be leaving this unhealthy environment, it should be known that it took 5 different emails and phone calls to 4 different people to finally make the outcome understood and to have all questions answered.
It makes one wonder though, is this how things should be done? And are we all truly better off this way? We wonder why jobs are being offshored and outsourced and then you come to a situation like this and the answers are painfully obvious. If I have learned one thing in being here it's to hope for a desk that is out of the public eye and at someplace where you don't have to be escorted to the bathroom! I doubt I will get sent anywhere else, but if I do rest assured I will continue to be...
