There is a happy ending after all

I used to have the worst job. Make that boss. The job itself was pretty cool. (I'm a graphic designer.) I was frequently told that I was a terrible designer, or was accused of lying about things I could prove ... in hard copy. I finally quit, without having a new job. Three weeks later I accepted a job offer for the best job I've ever had. Sure, it pays a lot less (it cost me 10,000 less a year) but I figure my sanity and happiness is worth at least that much. My new boss, and partner in crime, is one of the coolest guys I've met in years. The stuff I get to design and work on is super cool and fun. I've nearly forgotten what stress is all about and for the first time in over 4 years I'm actually happy. I actually enjoy going in to work. No, really! I seriously enjoy going to work. It shocked me too. I didn't think that it was possible. Who knew less pay and a longer drive would make me happy?? And, get this, they actually APPRECIATE me! Whoah! They think I have great ideas and that I do great work. Get out! I'm serious! In fact, the other day I actually got a compliment. Imagine that!

Maybe you ought to request a raise come next review, eh? Hehehe! Seriously, though, I think 99% of America envies you right now. Sounds like you have a really satisfying job! Way to go!
