Book reference

12/29/2007 by CK
I was talking to a fellow alumni (whom I don't know) who is now a recruiter. I was able to connect to him via LinkedIn. Anyway, I e-mailed him at first and later e-mailed my resume. A phone call later he said he would try to provide some assistance for me. The issue is that he works for the clients (employers) looking for possible candidates (like myself)... FULL STORY»

Using LinkedIn

12/24/2007 by CK
Over the weekend I decided to hit 2008 with vigor! I was thinking about some of my former calss-mates since I had graduated with my Masters degree. I have a LinkedIn account and thought I'd check it out some more.

To my suprise there are over 200 new (2006 - 2008) graduates from my school nation-wide that are listed in LinkedIn. That doesn't include any graduates prior to those years (over 2,000!!!)... FULL STORY»

DTV AND DISHNETWORK

12/20/2007 by If you do not understand your second most importat customer
DTV and dishnetwork are two great companies that are bringing a lot of entertainment to people out there but if they do not watch the companies they are hiring to complete their jobs, they are just another peace of dust in the wind, they will in the future be nothing but another endangered species out there.

Listen my fat executives of DTV AND DISHNETWORK: treating your most important second customer THE TECHNICIANS THAT DEAL WITH THE CUSTOMER FACE TO FACE, should be your most important priority... FULL STORY»

Out with the old job in with the new...

12/13/2007 by rev.belevit
I did it...I QUIT. I gave notice the last day of my vacation. I began my vacation a couple of weeks prior and was contacted by an old friend "Barry" I hadn't heard from for a year or so. He told me of an opportunity with his company that would suit me to the proverbial "T". More money, better benefits, company car and card, etc.. I faxed my resume' and was contacted within 2 hours to come in for an interview... FULL STORY»

10/16/2007 by dumber than a catbox full of sh*t
Had to take the little foray to the Doc to get the MRI for the foot. And last Thurs. had to take the foray to the X-Ray people--again for the foot.

Wow! Are people nice! And they will answer your questions and help you and reassure you.

I love medical people.

And all I did was be nice.

I know I got lucky on this in many ways maybe. But the medical people are awesome... FULL STORY»

Fighting Back Against GOOGLE

10/10/2007 by SouthernProgrammer
This is a very good story that is well worth reading.

Fighting Back

I hope this guy wins.

IMO - Google is modeling the same "Work is life" model that Microsoft used to tout. That is well and good if you are in your 20's and are single but it eventually catches up with you... FULL STORY»

Even the New Boss Disliked the Old Boss

10/09/2007 by dumber than a catbox full of sh*t
I am on a committee to decide if we are going to scrap the Senior Presentation or change it and if we decide to change it, how it will be changed. Our committee has met a few times and we decided after coming-up with some really great ideas that we should meet with the Boss. We wanted to know what parts of the Senior Presentation he wanted to scrap and what he really wanted to keep... FULL STORY»

But I have 3 really nice managers where i work and i just think its about time they got some credit. Today i went into collect my paycheck from the front desk and i watched for 15+ minutes as the phone continued to ring off the hook. My manager had to deal with customer after customer.
