I simply asked for a couple of days off and the days were not even close together. The boss from hell was so upset that she sent me three e-mails about how I needed to find someone to replace me and it was not her job to find a replacement for me. Just reading her e-mails allowed me to see how enraged she was. So as it would happen I e-mailed her back because she said I needed to respond by 12:00 noon on a Thursday. Most Thursdays I am in class during the early morning hours past 12:00 noon. On my e-mail I made it clear that I was not home to answer e-mails and such, I also made it clear that I was not home drinking or smoking either. I only made mention of the drinking and smoking because I mentioned to her that I sometimes detox with water, she suggested that I was detoxing to get rid of the liquor in my system. I did not really comment on that remark, however, it did make me feel as if she thought less of me for some reason. I am the kind of person that read into things, and I do take it into account that she lives in the same location as some former co-workers from a past job. They may have mentioned to her other unkindly things about me, such as I get upset easily which can lead to me getting ill. Now the e-mail I mentioned earlier in this passage, she took it to the director of our department, whereas, she set up as appointment to me with us together. Of course I sheaded a few tears, but what really got me was the fact she asked me if I needed to go to the restroom or if I was sick or okay. I truly believe now that she wants me to live through a past job experience simply because of what she heard. I am not amused and as far as I am concerned I will not work there any longer because it is not worth the effort. Bottomline, however, is what happened in the past is simply that, the past, and if I was at fault for anything I feel I have paid in full whether I did it intentionally or not. As far as this boos from hell is concerned she is not affecting my well being or my future, but simply she is sowing seeds for her own future and the future of her children. What you put out there, always come right back to you. She wanted me to hang myself over something she heard, and the director is in on it too. What a shame.

Your being lambasted over second hand information? I am very sorry about what happened to you, but something is missing here. Go out with co-workers after work and they saw you trashed? Excessive absences that would lead to the conclusion you may be a party animal? Consecutive absences doesn't necessarily ring any alarms. Excessive absences that are random (1 every two weeks... 4 within 2 months) those are the ones that lead management to believe the person may have extracurricular activities.
