Obvious proof of "IT'S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, ITS WHO YOU KNOW"

This manager once was sending an e-mail to the supervisor about a particular employee (I'm not that employee); the e-mail said that the employee had been there long enough to know her job and was still making too many mistakes. It also said that people within the company were complaining about this employee and that they would need to find somewhere else to put her. The problem was instead of sending it to the supervisor, she e-mailed to the employee she was talking about.
This same manager had her personal calender open for all to see. This included meeting; meeting that were noted with subject matters in great detail. One such meeting was talking about a new hires possible problems, the basic note was that the 3 other girls in the dept had a problem with the 1 newest girl and this was just out there for all to see. When asked about it I understand that this "HIGH UP MANAGER" didn't know that everyone could see her calender schedule if she put it up there as open for all to see.
Oh, by the way the latest hire for her has a brother I understand that has vacation property in Puerto Rico that she and family use to vacation at; convienient isn't it!
Last but not least, this was a department of four and yet this Manager only had lunch on a semi regular basis with 1. Oh, and it was the department supervisor. It was just a worker, a worker who goes to her kids birthday parties and buys gifts. Funny this worker has weird medical things happen and everyone else picks up the slack but then when they can't keep up they are either called up on the carpet or in my case let go.
You guys tell me, have any of you seen bosses like this?

We had someone the boss called a "Chatty Cathy" and she thought she was the cat's meow. She was getting more phone calls than anyone in the department--six in one morning as I recall. During rush work time on Monday she would be seen chatting with the supervisor at the only workstation in the place. Apparently she could do so for taking the risks of pumping the rest of us for personal info that might be useful in future management decisions--like personnel adjustments. So they seemed to be giving her quite a bit of leeway for someone who, while she was capable of doing a number of our tasks, she still made repetitive mistakes and no one seemed to care.

My sister who is drop dead gorgeous was working as a waitress to help with college tuition, was being hassled by a patron who wanted her bread (maybe 3rd serving) and my sister who was working 90 miles/hours became frustrated with this woman (apparently quite overweight) and told her she did not need any more bread by the looks of her and to please calm down. My sister was not fired because she has movie star looks and the manager was smitten with her. It's who you know!

At the company I work with we are told that "all new positions will be posted" in HR and another common location. Problem is, many RIPE new positions never get posted. Friends or family of other employees suddenly appear in the positions. = Old story. - There's so much anti-nepotism blabber, but that's just what it is. HR folks even serve to SCREEN OUT candidates in order to promote the pets. - It certainly is tough to go forth in life and promote personal excellence when those "at the top" are so greedy and keep pushing you down the hill.

My current top boss likes to hire his buddies.... Then promote them. Then go on management business trips together... What a waste of money...
