Baby Jane, Annie Wilkes and Sybil, all rolled into one!

We'll just call her Sybil for now. Sybil finally cracked after her karma reared its ugly head, and without discussion, all of her co-workers reached their critical mass limit with her slimy, manipulative ways last Thursday.

That is to say, instead of backing down and yessing her to death (if only) we handed her crap right back to her. And she finally cracked! It doesn't get any better than this - when the person who has made everyone's life miserable gets a taste of her own freaky medicine.

You know the type - blamestorming byotch always looking out for numero uno no matter what the cost to others. Barks orders, interrupts conversations, announces mistakes of others, relishes finding fault, etc. Nightmare.

back to my story...

When the straw that broke the camel's back (that is, yet another coworker basically told her to shove it, in corporate-speak, of course)... Sybil threw a fit.

No, I mean LITERALLY.

Office door slams. Screaming animal noises and dramatic sobbing heard from within. Profanity at piercing decibel levels. You get the picture. Certifiable.

I fled the scene for some emergency chocolate.

The most amazing thing about this sociopath is that higher-ups are looking the other way. I believe she is seriously capable of harming someone.

HR is sitting on their asses. The dept. head seems to think that this "talented person" should stay on board in spite of her abusive and toxic personality.

I say we slip her some thorazine and call it a day.

There. I feel better.

God! Good luck, you just described my Bimbo EX-manager. Newsflash - HR is stting on their corporate dead A*S's, and higher management thinks she is "talented" because she is being protected by someone who has personally benefitted from what little talent she does have. Don't discount this possibility, no matter how hideous and/or unappealing she may be. Take care.

Just a quick thanks to the comments - it really helps to have others in the trenches! I really dislike being angry, by nature, I'm pretty silly, especially when I'm around people who take work FAR TOO SERIOUSLY. Puhleeeze, we're not saving lives here. In my best moments, I feel sad for her because she is a miserable human, and she doesn't have the awareness to get help (isn't it always that way?). I do think Thorazine would be a good common ground sort of place to begin, though, don't you? ha ha ha ha - I'll take a hit while I'm at it!!! Hang in there, drone workers everywhere! :)

Worker, You are not alone, I don't think this type of boss is limited by geography or office setting. When the antics of the boss distract from the job you are there for, I would think HR would get a little upset. Hmmmm. Good luck!

Gosh, Sybil sounds like the woman I work with! I am sorry to hear of your workplace being disrupted. I know it's hard to believe but things will improve in time. Let's hope retirement will come early. Don't let her discourage you at all! Hang in there and I'm in your corner! God bless you.
