How Many Ways Can We Kill You

It has been almost 3 weeks since I've been at work due to stress leave. In my prevmous story, "Ms," I related how my bosses trumpted up charges in a report which sent me in a "tailspin." My medical doctor placed me on stress leave and quoted a time of return as 9/25 and my next appointment with her is 9/22. Today, I picked up a registered letter from the post office from my employer which states, if my return is to be extended, a form must be received by the HR dept. at least 5 days before the scheduled date of return. Dear God, I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. I'm already out of my frigging mind and now to lay this stress on top of already existing stress is too much. What does a person do when all my life I've tried to do the right thing.

I have read your posts and I feel for you. I have been lambasted out of the blue before and it can stun you. First of all, dig deep into the knowledge of who you are; look at the charges they have leveled against you. If there is some truth to it, own it. However if they are way off and pulling things out of their @ss, then take a deep breath and realize that they are false charges and they have nothing to stand on. The truth will always come out. It may take years for the truth to rise, but it will. They will have to continue to lie to cover up the first lies and so on. Before you know it they will not know what is a lie and the truth, and they will reveal the truth themselves accidentally. I know what is is like to be punished for doing a the right thing. However, you are the one who has to live with what you do, they dont. Obviously you have a consience and they dont. I have done a lot of reading about sociopaths, not all of them are in prison. Some people are wired in their brain differently and they process fear differently. You may be dealing with a group of sociopaths, and there might be nothing you can do except, run for your life. They may not stop at ruining your career!

Thank you, Freedomringer. Your words speak truth.

I just spoke to my husband, who has had 20 years of experience in management and human resources, and he told me that there is no way that this is legal, or appropriate Have your doctor write the extension, and have the doctor's office call your employer with the information. Then, send the doctor's notice by registered mail to your employer, along with a statement from your doctor that the appointment had been previously acheduled, and there was no prior notification from your employer up until that time, indicating a "change" in normal procedure. Also, send a copy of this information by registered mail to the insurance company that is paying your disability. They are trying to screw with you because they think they can. They cannot stop your disability payments based on this, they are just throwing it out there to see if it will fly. Throw it back at them. Then, figure out a way to find another job. You do not have to tell another employer that you are on sick leave. Tell them you took time off to look for another job. If your current employer reveals that you are on sick leave, they are disclosing confidential information, and you can sue them. There are way to find that out, too-you can have a friend call as a "potential" employer, to get information. Don't let them destroy your health, take control of your own life. I will be praying for you.

Dharmadee, you are an inspiration this day for me. When people are down, it is so easy to try and keep them down. I will hold onto these words for dear life. Thank you so much.
