I walked in my boss's office, and handed him my resignation. I was quickly greeted with a 20 minute dissertation on how I "burned" them, how they "wasted money on me and now must start over", how they are "tired of people wanting a career with them, they invest money, then that person quits" and let's not forget how I "make too much money for the job I'm doing". ((Uh? Hello? Who's the dumba$$ who hired me for that money!!!!????))
But he ended with "you did a great job".. *confused*....
Sitting there with my mouth open, all I could say is "I know you have had quite a turn-over rate lately, so I can understand how you may feel this way". (Since February, I am the 11th office person out of 22 who have quit) Boss then said "Nothing more for me to say, nothing I can say".. so I said "That's all I needed to tell you" and I walked out. He has not spoken to me since Tuesday.
Then I find out he sends an email to the managers regarding my departure (and doesn't include me on the email, someone forwarded it to me) and says the next person "must be intelligent and mean; subject to ridicule and gossip; will be hated by managers and field employees; Pay is $12/hr". (GOOD LUCK THERE!!!) I don't know if he's being sarcastic, or if he was serious. Judging by the conversation the other day, my gut tells me he was serious. Thoughts??????

Well i don't know how "dead end" of a job you had. I usually don't give crappy jobs a 2 week notice. Unless they were good employers (never happens). Are you the only one in the dept? If they wanna be pissed fine, no sweat off your back! GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW JOB!!
