So th ine company enforced emplyee review comes around and mine is glowing - lots of accolades and ending with "We are lucky to have you.".....until it's my turn - I thank them for acknowledging my hard work acknowledge their good points- point out some of the strengths that they missed (as asked for) and them make the mistake of telling the truth - that after ten plus years as an exemplary part-time employee I'd like a full time position now. I remind them of the 2 job openings I expressed interest in that were predestined - even though I would have been a good candidate. That was discouraging," I told them. - and that was discouraging
Then, a face to face where we have to sign off on each other's reviews. Suddenly, my work isn't really up to snuff for the full time slot - pretty much out of the question- a big leap - the boss says with the glowing review sitting in front of him -
So self esteem is in the toilet - getting better with collegues calling to tell me how wrong the bosses are - my son tells me how different it would be if I were a man and hubby wants to beat up on the bosses which makes me feel better
still - this sucks and I really need to get out of this toxic, deameaning atmosphere..aaaargh

A caring, capable woman is denied full-time status after a decade of excellent work by the very company that acknowledges that work. Meanwhile, 75% of workplace bullying is inflicted by women on other women-females that take advantage of their full-time status and often illicit relationships with superiors to ensure that morale is rock-bottom and real talent is headed out the door... And we wonder why we struggle to compete in a world-wide economy..

I have actually seen workers refused promotions because they were deemed to "valuable" in their current slot. Might that be the case? Whatever the case, I would get a copy of any glowing reviews and start looking elsewhere. On the other hand, someones one refusal can be leveraged when another potential promotion comes up. Play the game back.

Yup. It's obvious they don't want you in a full time position. If YOU want a full time position, you'll have to go outside of the company and get one.
