Headcase Extraordinaire Final

My final day with this company was a lot of fun...we cleaned homes in an affluent area and just had a great day.
Upon returning to the office at the end of the work day, the boss lady calls me into the office...great, now what is what I'm thinking!
She hands me an envelope which appeared to be a card of some sort. At that point the phone rings, she answers it, then tells me there's a "memo" on the desk for me.
As she continues her conversation, I open the card. It's a congratulatory card from her and my co-workers on my recent engagement. Next, I begin perusing the "memo".
Memo...no, it's a written reprimand listing all my "offenses"...mostly more of the same that we'd discussed previously, but with ridiculous additions!
Finally the boss lady ends the phone conversation and turns her attention towards me and asks me what I think...
"I think this is crazy, I've never been reprimanded either verbally, let alone in writing. Where do you get this stuff?"
She then wants me to sign it...uh, no way!
At that point, Id been totally fed up with all her manipulations, etc and thought hey, nothing to lose here so go for it!
I went into great detail explaining to her what I'd observed of her behavior, how it affected the employees job performance, etc. She clearly didn't get it as she askes me if I'd like to help her re-write the "memo".
NO...I developed a headache after an hour of this...which by the was was not on the clock. I told her I'd think about it and see her the following week.
After thinking about it over the long holday weekend, I call her office manager and let her know I wouldn't be coming back, I'd be returing the uniforms, and to please put my last check in the mail. She says "no problem."
I send the uniforms back registered mail, signed receipt requested as I didn't want my paycheck to become an issue.
Guess what...the postman left the first notice... as she apparently wasn't answering her door. After several weeks pass, I'd had enough. I called the office manager and reminded her that there were laws protecting employees, that I was to receive my check within seven days of terminating my employment and that I'd already contacted the State Dept of Labor. The check was in the mail the next day, along with the return card she had signed upon receiving the uniforms.
Lesson learned, if the boss talks crazy, and walks crazy...get the heck out of there!
Oh, and I found a great job as a receptionist in a local doctor's office! No more drama please!!

Good for you! Don't sign anything of that nature, and let your employer of the difficulties their behavior has caused you.The phone stunt while you're standing there betrays her bullying abuse-some employees report their abuser would put their feet up on the desk, and lilterally speak to them "between their feet". She already has a new target, and eventually she'll screw her business into the ground. Live well...
