Let me first state that my Boss and my coworker are best friends. i work at a daycare. the whole point of me being there was to help her out for the last 2 hours of the day because she is over ratio with the kids. however as soon as i get there my coworker gets on the phone and walked into the bosses office and stays there until closing. she would surf the net and talked on the phone with her boyfriend the whole time. she also has been leaving early and putting her time down the whole day even though she left early. i notice when i came in with the kids to get them a drink, she was in our bosses office talking on the phone and the boss was surfing the net. allowing her to be in there talking to her boyfriend!
i talked to her about it..and she said i could do the cleaning and she would come out. she never did what she said. plus to mention the boss talked to her about leaving early but they both left early that day. come to find out they both left to go to red lobster and left me over ratio with the kids again!! How would you handle this suituation?

Unfortunately, I have the same situation here. Moron, girlie-boy co-worker who is buddies with the GM, so he'll never get fired. I have ended up doing most of the work in the department, mostly because I'm a fast worker and I can multitask, he can't. He's a big brown-noser & stool-pidgeon. Luckily, since production is way up since I've "taken over" most of the work, at least the owner likes me and will probably give me a great bonus. But I still have to put up with my coworker's b.s. If it weren't for the fact that both ppl were straight guys, I'd think my co-worker was sleeping with the boss...

What makes you think they haven't slept together? I once worked with two women who had husbands, kids, etc. and were caught kissing at work and would go away for the weekend together and were "tanning buddies". Sometimes the very exclusivity of the relationship increases the level of favoritism. My observation is that if their relationship appears to be on a certain level, it probably is...

Well the GM is Mr. Manly-Man/Chauvinist Pig. I could see the Weasel being gay though....we can't let him use tools or try and fix anything for fear he'll hurt himself or break the thing.

If they leave you alone on the premises with an over-ratio of kids, call social services anonymously.

The ting to remember here is that partners in workplace bullying can have sexual affairs based on power amd mutual admiration of each other's tactics. The he-man boss may nolt be really gay, just as a straight boss may not be in love with a female asst., but if they are ganging up on someone else, studies show that an affair occurs at least 50% of the time.

This reminded me of something my mother said when I was about 12. She tole me that there is NEVER such a thing as a group of 3 good friends. She told me that there would always be a situation where 2 of them would gang up on the third one. I didn't believe her, and started hanging out with these 2 other girls. Well, guess what...? I barely escaped before they cut off all my hair (just for fun, supposedly)! And I am not kidding. Sounds like that is what is happening here. Unfortunately, this is just an example of the "down" side of human nature. Just remember - it is NOT you. But I know that does not make it feel better when it is happening to you.
