Quit and headed to the beach!

After eight months of torture by a bureau chief and her assistant underling, I'd had enough.
I'd been asked to join the company because I'd won a few awards working for a competitor and they woed me over to their side. I wasn't in the door a month before the terrorism started. They couldn't decide what they wanted me to do. When they did give me an assignment, my approach to doing it wasn't adequate but they couldn't offer any direction on how they wanted it done the next time. Then came a company crisis that left me in charge after hours. I had no training in what to do or how to do it. Bureau chief and underling would call from home asking "how's it going?" Then I was blasted for not handling the crisis to their level of satisfaction. Then assistant underling went on vacation leaving bureau chief in charge. Every day there was a new issue with her. So finally after three days, I walked into the office, and bureau chief had another problem. At that point, I logged out of my computer, picked up my briefcase and walked out...without another word. I got into my car and drove to the beach. Best five days at the beach I've ever spent.
