I am new with a lot to vent about. I hav this co-worker in my office that takes off everyweek three times out of the week. She somplains of headaches. Normlly right after lunch she needs to go home!!! It is none of my business but she takes an hour lunch which is supoosed to be an half hour lunch. She tells the idiot boss things on others and she like the secretary in our office are nothing but trouble.I am just so tired of watching this abuse in our office. And to top it off she stays off so much that her work piles up. Then the super expects us to do her share of the work while she floats around the office saying that her head hurts. The other thing is the super is paying her when she doesn't have leave she has the secretary to give her all hre hours.That is stealing and the super is helping her to steal.
I don't understand why this is being allowed. On tio of it all this individual is taking courses and the super allows her to bring her books and sit at her desk and do her school work. The woman is 26 years old she has to know that her absenses affect us all not just her. She doesn't care she just uses that headache excuse when it suits her.

I am so sorry that this is happening to you. It is not unusual, although this situation is pretty blatant. You have hit the nail on the head when you say, she just "does not care". That is the truth. This is not about what is fair, it is what she can get away with. She is obviously being protected, so there is not much you can do except document at this time.

These women either know something or are covering for one another. Who is the overall boss? Can they help? Unless they're sleeping with the girls or they have something on the superivor, they might be very interested in documented evidence of their wage and hour theft.

Just to play the devil's advocate for a moment - Does this person suffer from migraines? Has she even mentioned it to anyone? I found out recently (much to my surprise) that migraines are covered by disability. Sounds like she's abusing the system and your department in any case.
