Those "work at home" ads on this site

Sort of a musing about work-at-home opportunities, but inspired by this site. Aren't those links below that say "DO SURVEYS AT HOME FOR FREE, EARN BIG" usually scams? Most of those websites don't pay you directly at all, like a University Psych department would for example. They generally make you pay for the service and then half the surveys are "sweepstakes," not cash. The rest pay $2 max.

The same with most "work at home" stuff. Do data entry from home, but you have to pay $300 for your training package, and then you earn money IF we ever send you work.

At least, that's my experience. Has anyone had success with these? Not looking for a career, just a chance to earn dinner out now and then, or some money to hang onto for the heck of it.

Yeah--i tried GoZing too, but for some reason by the time I got around to the surveys, they were already expired or full. Must be popular.

They are good for a laugh though.

I've done a few survey things through gozing. Though the only ones that payed well were the ones where I had to actually go in to an office and participate in a panel or something. A few product review ones paid me free product plus $10, etc. Might be worth checking out.
