The story about the Belfort Company reminded me of a job I had a while back, with a small air filtration company. I was the front desk/secretary/clerical/administrative assistant...you get the idea. The owner was a master at stealing other company's advertising and marketing ideas. He would take their ads, slogans, letters, etc, and copy them over on the Xerox machine in full color, with his business card over their logos. He would carefully "white out" any lines or tell-tale signs, and re-copy until it looked like it came from his company originally. He saved a fortune on paying for an advertising campaign! He really thought he was getting away with something. Anyway, one day, he stole someone else's full page ad, and printed up a bunch of flyers to distribute at a trade show. Unfotunately for HIM, as he stood at his booth at the trade show, handing out his flyers, the representatives from the company he stole from showed up. They immediately confronted him, and told him that if he did not cease and desist immediately, they would sue him and own his company. How embarrassing!!!! Oh yes, he also had a FAKE "BBB" sticker on the front door. Go figure.
