HR - an insider's perspective

Even as an HR insider, I have stories...

My boss, the HR Director for my organization, spent weeks expounding on the myriad of reasons he would prevent any relative of any employee from working in our Organization (all the while targeting specific employees mind you).

Within the span of three months, he allowed a senior (position wise) person in the Department to hire their niece - to work in HR under the direct supervision of this "senior" person, no less! He also spoke to / leaned upon (I don't know that there's a difference) another Department Head to hire his Wife! Adding insult to injury, the wife was automatically exempted from processes we make every other new employee go thru...

Such convenient double standards!

Be A Change Agent or Move On (05/18/2006)
In HR you need to act as a chenge agent, if you don't support the company's procedures and have somewhat a belief in them it's time for you to move on.
