Say "bye bye" schmuck

A while ago I wrote about a certain boss that abuses his technicians. Weeeellll, what comes around goes around. I was called into the regional's office (along with 5 or six of the "schmuck's" technicians. We were all asked to put pen to paper and give our accounts of what was happening on his team. After an hour or so we were all finished with our "essays" and I was about to leave when the regional asked me to stay for a few minutes (I thought the worst, of course). "So, what do you think the end result of this meeting should be?" was the question put to me. I was startled that he actually wanted my opinion about Mr. Schmuck. "Personally, I think he should be released for a better job opportunity." Regional's eyebrows raised, he nodded his head and said "good call". Needless to say Mr. Schmuck is now looking for another job opportunity. Here is the bad part...I went to lunch with the regional and he interviewed me for Mr. Schmuck's position. AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHH. MIDDLE MANAGEMENT!!!! Somebody KILL me. This is not what I expected. I've mulled on it for a week or two and came to a conclusion. I know the people I work with hold me in high regard and enjoy my company. I also know that the tech.'s come to me with all their questions. I'm going to accept the position and pray that I can be the kind of leader that everyone expects me to be.

Congrats!!! Remember to be fair, be humble, always get both sides of any story and don't give any select few of your underlings the power to turn your head any which way they please. Birds will whisper in your ear, but use your own eyes and ears. Good luck!

Hey Spencer....NO FREAKIN' WAY!!! In the words of our ex-president Bush "Not gonna happen..not prudent at this juncture in time". I may be a boss but it doesn't mean I'm gonna be a ssob (sorry-son-of-a-bit_h).
